Dear Madison Warhawk Families,
Hello! To our new Warhawks, I'd like to say welcome to our Madison family. To our returning Warhawks, welcome back - we've missed you! The 2021-22 school year marks my third school year as the principal at Madison High School.
Here is a glimpse into who I am. I grew up in San Bernardino County, California - Fontana to be exact. After a short time at UC San Diego, I found myself working full time and raising a family. While working full time in clerical for Fontana Unified School District and recognizing my passion for working with students, I returned to school and received my Bachelor's degree in English from National University. I received my Master's degree in instruction from Azusa Pacific University and my Administrative Credential from Cal State Dominguez Hills. I was a high school English teacher, a K-12 instructional coach, and a program coordinator for a combined thirteen years before entering administration. This is my eighth year as a high school administrator, and I am so fortunate to call Madison my home.
My husband and I have raised two children, my daughter a graduate of the University of Hawai'i and my son a student at Mesa College and a United States Marine Reservist. After my son's high school graduation and after careful consideration, we decided we would write a new chapter here in San Diego. Everyone in San Diego Unified and Madison High School has made me feel I have belonged here from the start. My hope is that our students and families also feel heard, valued, and respected at Madison.
I look forward to this school year with our students, parents, staff and the entire Madison community.
I am fortunate that I get to wake up every day and follow my passion, working with our youth - your children and the staff who have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child every day.
