Library Services
Students may come to the library to use the computers, check out materials, or complete work. The library offers a bank of computers for quick question research or looking up library materials in the catalog. There is also a set of computers available for longer-term research and assignments. Our space includes tables with comfortable seating for reading, studying, and meeting with fellow students. Digital scanners, a copy machine, and printers are also available for students needing printing services.
Teachers may come to the library for the same service for students. Teachers also have access to our extensive collection of videos and DVDs, supplementary resources, and teacher materials.
Library Materials Checkout Policies
Students may check out up to 5 items for three weeks at a time. Renewals include an additional three weeks beyond the original due date. There is no late fee for returning books past their due date, so please be responsible and return them on time for others to use.
Your current student photo ID card serves as your library card. It is required to check out any library book, textbook, or other class material.
Textbook Materials Checkout Policies
As soon as you are finished using a textbook, or your teacher says you are finished using a textbook, please return it to the Circulation Desk in the library before school, during lunch, or after school, as another student may need it.
Lost Books and Fees
When a student loses or damages materials, such as textbooks and/or library books, there are FOUR ways to make up the loss:
- The student can pay for the materials.
- The student can replace the EXACT item by purchasing online and searching by a specific ISBN number.
- Make a monthly (reasonable) payment plan.
- The student can perform service to the school library in lieu of paying money.
All textbooks, calculators, and library books are due on or before the last day of school.
Care of Textbooks
All textbooks, except paperbacks, should be covered. Covers are available in the library, or students can make their own.
