Hello Warhawk Families!
My name is Michael Salamanca, and I am so excited to be working with you and your students throughout their time here at Madison. I’m originally from the Philippines and was raised in the Los Angeles area. I attended Cal Poly Pomona for my bachelor's degree, where I originally started in Mechanical Engineering before eventually finishing with a degree in Mathematics. I moved out to San Diego in 2007 to join my now wife and complete my credentials and master's degree in Educational Technology from San Diego State University. I have been fortunate to spend much of my teaching career in the Clairemont area, where I helped to open up Innovation Middle (iMiddle) prior to moving to Madison High School. I also had the amazing opportunity to coach the boys' and girls' Volleyball teams, where we won two CIF championships and multiple league championships.
When I’m not working, I take great pride in being a husband and a dad to my sons. We spend a lot of time playing basketball in our backyard, riding our bikes at the park, and having burritos at the beach. In addition, we do our best to take our sons on adventures around the world where we hope to make memories we will remember for a lifetime.
