Student Records and Transcript Requests
The San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) is responsible for archiving permanent educational records of students. SDUSD offers a secure and convenient online platform for students, alumni, and third parties to request transcripts and other education verification records.
Please note:
- In accordance with SDUSD Board Policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), student records are only accessible to those who have authorization from the eligible student or their guardian if the student is under 18 years of age. If the student is 18 years or older, school records cannot be released to a guardian without the student’s written consent.
Important Information:
- All requests for information must be completed online.
- Phone, email, and fax requests are no longer accepted for third parties and post-secondary institutions.
- Charter School record requests are NOT processed with this application.
- Students who graduated in 2015 or later must request records directly from the high school they last attended. Please follow the instructions below.
- There are no fees for military recruiters. Please email a copy of your military ID to [email protected]. You will receive a coupon code to use during the ordering process.

Processing Time:
- Standard orders: Please allow up to 10 business days for processing.
- Legal requests: Processing times may be longer.
Email Notifications:
You will receive emails from [email protected] regarding the status of your order. It is important to read these emails carefully as additional information may be required to process your request.
Transcript Requests for Madison High School (Graduation Year 2015 - Present)
If you graduated between 2015 and the present, please submit the following to [email protected]:
- An email to the Registrar requesting your transcript, including:
- The legal name you used while enrolled at Madison High School.
- Date of birth.
- Graduation year/class year.
- Indicate whether you would like an official or unofficial copy of your transcript and where you would like it sent (email address or physical address).
- A letter with your legal signature.
- A copy of your ID or Driver's License (ensure the picture and signature are clear).
- A contact phone number.
Note:
The school cannot provide a copy of your diploma. Alumni receive only one diploma upon graduation, and the school does not keep or issue copies.
Processing Time:
Once we receive your letter, please allow 5-7 business days for processing.
Education Verification for Third Parties (Graduation Year 2015 - Present)
Companies or schools requesting education verification for a student with a graduation year of 2015 to present must email [email protected] or fax (858) 496-8421 with the following:
- The legal name the student used while enrolled at Madison High School.
- Date of birth.
- Graduation year/class year.
- An authorization form or release of student records from the client/customer.
Note:
The school cannot provide a copy of the diploma. Alumni receive only one diploma upon graduation, and the school does not keep or issue copies.
